2. Unfortunately, most of what the up coming generation knows is pertinent to technology, where as the older generation were well versed in a plethora of knowledge I'm jealous.
I disagree with this statement I am not jealous that the older generation were well versed in a plethora of knowledge and didn't have have technology. This is because with the technology we have today we can still be well versed in a plethora of knowledge and it probably wont take as longer for that to happened as it did back in the day. this is because we have a wealth of knowledge at our finger tips literally. you can even do school online now. The way that i use technology is entertainment as well as education. I use it to watch Youtube videos and go on Facebook, but i also use it to write papers and do research and things of that nature for school.

Elizabeth Zachry Responds to statement #1
"Given the proclivity of the younger generation to text rather than talk to one another, I am waiting for the app that lets you say something truly radical with your iPhones, iPads (or other devices) ... use the app to talk to somebody.Whoever invents this one will make a bazillion dollars."
I agree with the fact that (most) my generation and the up coming generation are technology dependent on texting, email, Facebook and etc, specific communication. I most definitely agree that this generation is not a face to face or vocal communicative generation. Personally I would rather have a conversation face to face or over the phone rather then come face with interpreting someones text or email. The tone may come off rude or harsh when in that person's mind who sent could be they arent trying to be but that is just how they come off in text. Thus why I love talking on the phone there is no error for misinterpreted emotions or tone being perpetrated its straight forward and from the source.

For statement #2, I disagree with what is said, because even though this generation has wide varieties of technology, a great amount of people still have "a plethora of knowledge". Our generation does not have to be dependent on technology and have it do all the thinking for us, because most of society can think for themselves. We are creating things every day that improves our society, which proves our generation has people that have a wide range of knowledge. I use technology as well , but I'm not dependent on it and need it to think for me; I have a mind of my own.
Sarah Jones Response to Statement 2
"Unfortunately, most of what the up-and-coming generation knows is pertinent to technology, whereas the older generations (older than mine) were well versed in a plethora of knowledge. I'm jealous."
I agree with this statement, majority of the younger generation's knowledge is solely regarding technology. I know personally that in the earlier years of my academic career, I was taught to use a calculator instead of using mental math. This has hindered my academic career greatly when it comes to mathematics because now I rely greatly on calculators in order to complete any form of mathematics. I am jealous per say of the generations before me because they did not rely on technology as heavily as my generation does. The older generations had to hand write their assignments and didn't rely on spell-check and grammar check in order to write a paper. I feel that due to the heavy use of technology in today's society, generations are becoming to dependent on technology to correct their mistakes and solve their problems. Older generations had to learn everything and did not have technology to lean on as their backbone. I wish that the newer generations learned the way that the generations before us did. Technology has it's perks but I feel that in today's society there should be a separation between academics and technology. Technology should be limited in academic setting in order to allow students in these younger generations to be able to become more well-versed in all areas of academics and not rely on technology to answer their homework problems.
Andrea Bastidas (Statement 1)
I agree with the first statement because it's true that young teens and maybe even young adults don't like talking on the phone and prefer to just text. In ways it's just easier to text because you can send a quick text and be on your way or it gives you more time to think of a good response instead of on the spot answer when you're talking with somebody on the phone. Also in the statement, in my opinion, it pokes fun of the apps because the writer talks about how if someone makes an app to talk with another person they could make a lot of money even though there's a call button for free.
